Q: What is Chiropractic?

Q: How does Chiropractic work?

The human body has a natural ability to restore itself. The nervous system governs the effectiveness of this process to occur. There are many life events such as car accidents, stress, sports injuries, repetitive injuries, and hormonal imbalances that hinder the body’s natural ability to adapt. When these events occur the joints in the body become restricted, limiting range of motion and could result in irritation or compression at the spinal nerve. These joint distortions are known as subluxations and with proper care can be addressed and corrected.

Q: What makes us different?

Q: I do not like to get my bones cracked, how can I get treated?

We understand that their are a few patients that do not like to be “cracked” or are maybe just afraid that something bad will happen. We are very intuitive in your path to wellness and therapy process. If adjustments aren’t for you, we have numerous other therapies to handle these situations and still maintain an exceptional customized treatment protocol for you.

Q: How frequently do I need to come in for treatment?

The best answer for this question is that it depends on how much damage is present and how much change we can expect to make in turning your condition around. Typically more therapy is needed early in the treatment progress. We progressively work out your body to change postural and soft tissue memory. As the symptoms you are experiencing begin to diminish, less care is needed and the restorative process can begin. We are often able to significantly reduce the number of visits when the patient is disciplined with their home care procedures.

Q: How long will it take to correct my problem?

Correcting your problem depends on how much damage and postural imbalances are present, and how well you correct the stressors that repeatedly harm your body. Generally, the earlier a problem is handled the shorter time is necessary for correction (2-6 months), more complex cases much longer (6-24 months).

Q: I heard that I can get a stroke from neck manipulations?

There are many risk factors for stroke including blood clotting problems, hypertension, smoking, high cholesterol, heart problems, and trauma such as blows to the head from accidental falls or sports injuries. Strokes or stroke-like symptoms are also associated with normal everyday activities such as cradling a phone between your ear and shoulder during a prolonged conversation, having your hair washed at a hair salon, dental procedures, painting a ceiling, and turning your head while driving. These strokes from ordinary neck movements occur without warning in some people for no apparent reason. Q: I want to avoid spine surgery, how can you help me?

The process of traditional medicine goes like this; patient sees a primary doctor and is given pain/muscle relaxers. If that does not help the patient may be referred to a therapist for 6-8 treatments. If that fails they are referred to an orthopedic who may request a MRI and depending on the results may offer surgery. Little or no emphasis is placed on proper spinal mechanics and posture which might be leveraging your spinal condition in the first place. Spinal surgeries often bring many new complications to the forefront, and in many cases do not fix the problem at hand. A narrow focused doctor that sees your condition just as a disc herniation that requires surgery and fails to understand the structural mechanics behind it, often leads to a failed back surgery (some estimate 75% failure rate). What is overlooked by others, we seldom miss because of our comprehensive evaluation process.

Q: Can Chiropractic help someone who has had neck/back surgery?

Chiropractic will help you body in attaining and maintaining a increased sense of function. After one has undergone a neck/back surgery their may be residual symptoms that were not resolved by the surgical intervention.

Q: I can't sleep because of back and leg pain, what is going on?

The spine expands at night that mean the space between the joints may swell when this happens it can cause discomfort. This happens mostly when the spine lacks its normal curves and alignment accompanied with spinal degenerative changes. Usually, it is more affected when your bed is not properly supporting you, Depending on your sleeping position the type of mattress is really important.
